Our growing season is short and it comes on fast. Everything happens between the last frost and the first one, and if a property sits for a few weeks the bush starts taking it back.

We handle regular upkeep for people who live here, and scheduled upkeep for people who do not — seasonal residents, landlords, estates, and anyone maintaining a second property from out of town.

Regular season upkeep

Grass cutting on a schedule, trimming and edging, and keeping growth back from the building, the driveway and the septic area. Booked as a season rather than call-by-call so it actually gets done while you are away.

Brush and overgrowth

Clearing regrowth along driveways, trails, fence lines and lot edges, opening up sightlines, and cutting back what has crowded in against a building. Small tree and limb removal where it is safe for us to do it — anything big, near a line, or leaning the wrong way goes to someone with the right equipment and insurance, and we will tell you so.

Spring and fall cleanups

Spring: uncovering the yard, hauling out winter debris and blowdown, raking, and repairing whatever the frost and plows did to the edges. Fall: leaves, cutting back, storing furniture, clearing eaves before freeze-up, draining and stowing hoses, and shutting down outdoor taps.

Getting ahead of winter

Eavestroughs cleared before they freeze full, downspouts pointed away from the foundation, roof and vent check, patio furniture and equipment put away, and marking driveway edges and hydrants so the plow does not find them the hard way. Doing this in October costs a fraction of what it costs to fix in March.

Can you maintain a property while I am not in town? +

Yes, and that is a good chunk of what we do. We book it as a season with a set schedule, and you get a message with photos after each visit so you can see the place without driving up to it.

Do you take away what you cut? +

Yes. Hauling and disposal is included unless you would rather keep it — some people want the brush left for firewood or a burn pile, which is fine, just tell us.

How far out of town will you go? +

Cochrane and the surrounding area. Give us the address or the road and we will tell you straight whether it works and whether there is a travel charge.

Do you plow snow? +

Snow clearing is not our main line. What we do is the work that makes winter easier — eaves cleared, downspouts sorted, roof and vents checked, and driveway edges marked before the first plow goes by.
